Check Point Releases VPN Client for Mac OS X

Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. this week announced the release of VPN-1 SecureClient, a new VPN (virtual private network) client for Mac OS X. The company claims that its product is the first user-friendly VPN client for Mac OS X to incorporate a centrally managed firewall.
The Redwood City, Calif., company says VPN-1 SecureClient will combine features of Check Point's firewall and other security products.

This will allow central network administrators to set and manage security policies on the computers of individual users, "pushing out" security settings, the company says. It adds that the benefit is a consistent rollout of network security.

In addition, rollout of VPN-1 SecureClient will prevent unauthorized accesses through a remote user's computer or network connection.
VPN-1 SecureClient requires Mac OS X v. 10.3 or later. Pricing begins at $2,300 for a 25-license package.
